William Morris Dorset Oyster Shells.
William Morris
is best known as the 19th century’s most celebrated designer, but he was also a driven polymath who spent much of his life fighting the consensus. A key figure in the Arts & Crafts Movement, Morris championed a principle of handmade production that didn’t chime with the Victorian era’s focus on industrial ‘progress’. His collections include not only wallpapers and textiles but also carpets, embroideries, tapestries, tiles and book designs.
These dishes can be used as Jewellery Dishes, Trinket Dishes, Cufflink and Tie Pin Dishes, Bathroom Decor or Salt and Pepper Dishes
P R O C E S S
These shells come straight from the beautiful shores of Dorset and the South East Coastlines. Once they are back in my studio each one is then thoroughly cleaned and scrubbed and left to air dry.
Once the painted or applied design is applied they are left to air dry for another day. They are then sealed and painted with a gilded gold leaf.
N O T E
Each shell trinket dish will have subtle variations which are caused by the natural variations in the shape and size of the sea shells used, as well as a result of the hand crafting painting method and the Decoupage.

The shells are wrapped in white tissue paper and are then presented in a natural, branded, sustainable gift box, nestled in white shredded & recycled paper to protect the shell on its journey.
A wonderful self indulgent treat for you or a thoughtful gift to show your love for that special someone ❤️

The shell is sealed with a hard wearing, food safe, crystal epoxy resin but I do not recommend that you immerse it in water. To clean wipe gently with a dry cloth.
